Slatine are a small fishermen and tourist village situated on the northeastern side of the island Čiovo, only 8km from Trogir. It lies on the coast of Kaštela bay, opposite Split and peninsula Marjan, which are situated in direction east.
The island Čiovo is famous for its rich vegetation, numerous islands and little islands, stone and gravel beaches.
In the surroundings of Slatine, the coast is indented with a lot of lagoons, cliffs, gravel and stone beaches. During summer heats, the pinewoods create pleasant shade, and they are perfect either for families with small children for swimming or for those who love peace and quiet.
Beside tourism, inhabitants are mostly occupied with fishery and agriculture. The village disposes of open sport terrains for indoor soccer and basketball, restaurants and „konobe“ (wine cellars) with homemade oil, wine, fruit, vegetable and sea specialties. For those who love one-day excursions, there is a possibility of organized excursions to neighboring islands Šolta, Brač and Hvar.
During tourist season, the village is connected by ferry line Slatine - Split, and during the whole year the village is connected with Trogir and Split by city and intercity bus-lines
