Documents, customs, regulations

Tourists need a valid passport, children under the age of 16 must either have their own passport or be registered in their parents' passports. When traveling by car, you need a driver's license, vehicle documents and a green card. A visa is not required. VAT refund applies to foreigners when purchasing goods worth more than HRK 500 with confirmation on the Tax-cheque form when leaving the country.

The police can detain a foreigner's passport for 48 hours or until they pay a fine or until a court decision.
