Podstrana is a seaside village located just about 8 km south of the centre of Split, making it an ideal base for exploring Croatia's second-largest city without the hustle of the city centre. The short Žrnovnica river flows through the village, and its mouth at the sea gives the area a special charm. Podstrana is lined with a long pebble-and-sand beach, along which modern hotels and apartment complexes have sprung up in recent years, offering all the facilities for a comfortable holiday. From the coast there is a beautiful view of Split and the island of Brač, one of the most photogenic panoramas on the entire riviera. From here you have all of Split's attractions within easy reach – the Diocletian's Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the international airport, and ferry connections to the islands. Unlike the lively centre of Split, Podstrana has kept a calmer, family-friendly atmosphere, while still offering all the comforts of being close to a big city. That makes it a popular choice for both families with children and couples wanting to combine beach time with sightseeing. We offer a wide range of apartments directly from the owners, with no commission. Weather in Podstrana
